Feast your eyes on this head turner by George Peter Stavropoulos 1920-1990, American, born in Greece. Known for creating ethereal gowns that flowed with movement and for his amazing use of prints. Gorgeous warm colored chiffon print dress with wonderful sleeves. Sleeves are exaggerated, sheer, flowing raglan sleeves that are extra long with slits for hands. The bodice is fitted to the drop waist where the skirt flares adding fullness. The tie can be used at the waist or neck. Many of his gowns were made entirely by hand, and this one looks like it could also have been created with no machine work. Stavropolous gowns are quite hard to find as collector's of his work exist across the globe. He had followers such as Jackie Kennedy, Elizabeth Taylor and Maria Callas. Lady Bird Johnson's portrait that hangs in the powder room of the White House is taken in one of his gowns. It is said that Barbara Streisand still owns and wears a few of her purchases made during his lifetime. Get it now before it goes!

Few, if any, designers can make the color peach look sexy. Not true of Stephen Burrows, who is the master of simplicity and sex appeal and show us in this early representation of his design aesthetic -- lettuce edge appears to be in its infancy in this dress as does his well known visible stitching. This gorgeous knee length knit dress dons a loose cap sleeve and his detailing tie at front shows just enough but not too much. Cascading tie end flows down the front. Relaxing and comfortable to wear with a blazer to work and after a day at the beach especially if you have a sunburn! A piece that will only increase in its value!

Amazing Mayan - inspired medallion by Larry Vrba for Castlecliff! This pendant features a brilliant red-orange cabochon center, flanked on all four sides by inward- facing chieftains. The figures are enclosed by long, marquise - cut stones in red, green, blue, and brown atop a pewter - tone base. Simply amazing!
Lawrence Vrba began his career in 1969, working as a counter at Miriam Haskell; his talents did not go unnoticed, and he soon found himself designing jewelry. In 1970, when Miriam Haskell’s Head Designer, Bob Clark, left to work at Castlecliff, Vrba followed. Vrba spread his wings at Castlecliff, spearheading the famous Mayan collection, inspired by jewelry and adornments he saw on display at the Museum of Natural History in New York City. In 1973, after a two year stint at Castlecliff, Vrba returned to Miriam Haskell as head designer. Vrba continued to explore and expand the possibilities of costume jewelry, fashioning fine, unique pieces using materials he collected from across the globe. The Egyptian collection - perhaps his most famous Miriam Haskell collection- was inspired by materials he found while in Europe, and was featured in an edition of Vogue. In 1981s, Vrba left Miriam Haskell to work for Les Bernard, where his designs were displayed at Dillard’s for three years. In 1983 Vrba left Les Bernard to create his own eponymous business.
Vrba pieces are noted for their unusual materials, scale, and opulence!
Vrba has created pieces for theatre (including Broadway hits “Wicked”, “Exit the King”, “Blythe Spirit”, “Lend Me a Tenor”, and “Hairspray”, and the Metropolitan Opera), cinema, and private customers. His pieces have been featured at Bergdorf Goodman, Vogue, and Vogue Nippon. Clients include Beyonce, Angela Lansbury, Susan Sarandon, and Katy Perry.

This is dress is Classic Halston. He created clothing that is both incredibly comfortable and sensual at the same time and without ever being too revealing. Not an easy feat at all ... but he made it look so easy.
The lightweight jersey length and its long sleeves make it perfect for day to nightwear or wear any season of the year. It can be dressed up, down, but just dress in it! Perfect for a night of channeling an era of wild fun!
Roy Halston Frowick was born on 1932 in Des Moines, Iowa. He initially took inspiration to sew from his grandmother. He would create hats for his mother and alter clothing for his sisters. His foundation in fashion progressed in his teen years as he attended Indiana University for a short spell and then The Art Institute of Chicago while earning funds through creating windows displays. Hat making would be his first love and in 1957 opened his first shop. While he had a small but important following, it wasn’t until Jacqueline Kennedy wore her famous (Halston) Pillbox hat in ‘61 that he became an instant success. He rode the wave of fame and fortune for a while but once hats started to go out of fashion, so did Halston’s sales. Halston’s low point would prove to be a test for what was next in his life. After much experimentation, a failed collection, and the help of his well curated team, he developed the minimalist yet irresistible look we all know and love! He was a true creator of culture during his time. Halston’s work was revered within the studio 54 crowd, worn by all the “It Girls” and on the cover of popular magazines.
