Description
Striking bottle green glass on gold chain necklace by Accessocraft. The necklace is composed of numerous overlapping cut glass beads of varying sized and shapes, clustered together and affixed to a gold tone curb chain. The necklace is of a substantial weight, sits high on the neck - just above the clavicle, and has a lobster clasp. Marked "Accessocraft N.Y.C." on tag by clasp.
Accessocraft was founded by Edgar Rodelheimer and Theodore Steinman in the early 1930s. The brand operated out of New York, producing high end costume jewelry in cutting edge designs. In the 1940s Accessocraft partnered with the "British War Relief Society" and "The Committee to Defend America by Aiding the Allies", creating "War Relief" / "Society Pins" whose proceeds went towards the war effort. In the mid 20th century, Accessocraft also created jewelry, accessories, and vanity items in acrylic, under the name “Feathagold”. Accessocraft exploded in popularity in the post-war era, cocktail party era - they create pieces that were bolder and brighter than many other costume jewelry manufacturers, using fine materials such as enamel, Czech glass, filigree, and fine imitation pearls. Because of their reputation for excellence, designers, including Anne Klein, began worked with Accessocraft. Design motifs include: Gothic Revival, Hellenistic, Renaissance - Inspired, Byzantine Revival, Geometric, and Mid Century. Due to their higher prices, Accessocraft pieces were more expensive to produce than their contemporaries, leading to fewer pieces in existence today.

Gorgeous bold green choker necklace and earrings set made of famous bohemian glass! The dangling earrings are composed of a bold rectangular glass beads anchored by baroque swirls beset with milgrain details. The necklace has a center focus of three jade glass gems in a symmetrical art deco arrangement. The gems are flanked by hexagonal beads featuring the same flourishes on the earrings. The "chain" of the necklace is fully beaded with spherical and long, barrel shaped beads. Stamped "Czechoslovakia" on reverse.
