1960s Iridescent Blue and Brown Floral Brocade Mod Dress

Incredible 1960s mod dress! This dress is knee length, with long sleeves, a notched faux - mandarin collar, and a fit - and - flare silhouette with bell - like skirt. Gold braided circular buckle details accent the narrow waist of the dress. The dress is made of the most fantastic brown and blue brocade with gold floral accents featuring peacock - tail - like vines and trailing paisleys. The fabric has an iridescent quality to it, allowing it to shimmer beautifully. The dress is a fantastic example of how the structure of the Nehru jacket was wholeheartedly embraced by the mod subculture in the 1960s. The short skirt is totally 1960s London, with the dress greatly resembling the Nehru jacket; 1960s Indian flare is further accented by the floral brocade of the fabric.
