Description
Bombshell, curve-skimming cocktail dress by Suzy Perette! The dress is knee length, with a cinched waist and 3/4 length sleeves. The sheath silhouette of the dress is made possible by precise princess seams included in the front of the dress. The deep squared off bateau boat neck and the somewhat low scoop back bring a bit of sensuality to the dress. The dress is composed primarily of soft, black velvet, and features a supple and glossy black fox fur trim on the skirt. Back to hip metal zipper on back for closure.The Suzy Perette label was active from the 1940s into the 1970s, and created dresses for the American market based off of famous and sought-after Parisian designs.

Wonderful deep chocolate brown feathered Mink cape by Arnold Liebes. The cape is hip length, with a straight collar, and fastens at the neck with a grosgrain rope with AMAZING swirling polished bakelite acorn - like aglets. The cape is lined in black silk with a subtle floral pattern. Perfection.
Arnold Liebes was a furrier with trading posts in Alaska. In the early 20th century he made frequent trips to his outposts, documenting what he saw on his trips with a camera and his diary. His collection of photographs, manuscripts, and over 1000 anthropologically relevant items are available at the California Academy of Sciences.

1940s Martha Weathered Black Persian Lamb Suit with Sable Trim

Martha Weathered imported fabrics and owned a boutique in Chicago. This is one of her suits she had designed and made of beautiful black Persian lamb with large sable trim. The jacket has three quarter length sleeves and gorgeous large black sable trim collar and hem. Persian Lamb wrap skirt closes at side with large black buttons. *Geraldine is embroidered in the jacket but can be covered with a pocket at your local furrier or tailor.
