“THE wrap skirt” was designed in black lightweight wool goes with absolutely everything!In 1985, after having worked at Anne Klein for over a decade (Klein so trusted her judgement that she brought Karan with her to the famous "Battle of Versailles" show in 1973), she created her own brand and shook the world with her first runway show. Her runway show, titled "Seven Easy Pieces," was the world's first curated capsule collection. Built around a black body suit, the collection included a tailored jacket, skirt, pants, cashmere sweater, leather jacket, and an evening dress. These essential pieces were meant to be worn interchangeably, a revolutionary idea in the fashion world, allowing women (particularly working women) the freedom to look professional but not stuffy. This classic wrap skirt is a part of fashion history!

Martha Weathered imported fabrics and owned a boutique in Chicago. This is one of her suits she had designed and made of beautiful black Persian lamb with large sable trim. The jacket has three quarter length sleeves and gorgeous large black sable trim collar and hem. Persian Lamb wrap skirt closes at side with large black buttons. *Geraldine is embroidered in the jacket but can be covered with a pocket at your local furrier or tailor.

Dramatic two piece skirt and top ensemble by Carol Antell! The ensemble includes a fabulous fuchsia pink silk overlayed with black horse hair and black lace making up a stripped pattern. The circle skirt is structured with horsehair, can stand upright on it's own, and bounces wonderfully when worn. The black velvet bustier top features a sweetheart neckline with halter support, and has boning. The set is sensational. Zipper closures.

1950s Neiman Marcus Gabardine Tailored Skirt Suit with White Mink

Beautifully tailored hazelnut gabardine skirt suit with white mink cuffs on three quarter length sleeves from Neiman Marcus. Design details in this suit are reminiscent of the 1940's style with its delineated geometric design inserts. Three fabric covered buttons fit through Spanish button holes down the front of the jacket. Front side pockets are within the princess seam. The skirt hits several inches below the knee with no slit. Simple construction with waist band, darts and side zipper. Fits a modern size 4. Jacket is fully lined. Jacket has two functional side pockets along the princess seams.
