Description
This lovely antique mesh bag from the Mandalian Mfg features a decorative top clasp with floral motifs. The black, gold and mint design on the body of the bag resembles traditional middle eastern style rugs. There is slight aging on the lower left hand side of the bag where the paint is chipping.
Not much is known about Sahatiel Mandalian, He was an Armeninan immigrant born in Constantinople, Turkey who actually patented the flat mesh machine and painted flat mesh idea a good 5 years before Whiting and Davis!
